Through the Years – Album cover part 2

Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing great :).

So we have made the outer cover of the 8 x 8 mini album. Lets get on to the next step i.e. Adding the Hinge panels. Yes we are going to make 2 hinge panels, as this album has pages attached to the main book spine and on the right side opening panel.

We are basically making 3 main pages, out of these 2 will be on the main spine and 1 will be on the right opening panel.

–Right opening panel Hinge –

cut black cardstock measuring 7 3/4″ x 5″
score at 1″,2″,3″,4″
fold over the score lines as shown in the below picture.

Pinch in and paste the 2″ and 4″ score line together to make a hinge.
Basically the first 1″ will be pasted on the back of the album, next 1 ” is the gusset to accomodate pages and pictures, the next 2 ” will make the hinge and the balance 1″ will be pasted on the right side panel.

–Main spine Hinge panel –

cut black cardstock measuring 7 1/2″ x 7 3/4″
score at 1″, 1 1/4″, 2 1/4″, 3 1/4″, 4 1/2″, 5 1/2″, 6 1/2″, 6 7/8″
here 1″ will be attached to the album front panel, 1 1/4″ score is the gusset for the first page, 2 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ will make first hinge. Then 4 1/2″ is the gusset, 5 1/2″ and 6 1/2″ is the second hinge, 6 7/8 will make another gusset.
